Mama, I love you!
Mama, I love you….
Happy Mothers day!! (Queue Spice Girls song “Mama, I love you” for the background) Hope all you wonderful mothers are waking up to breakfast in bed, macaroni pictures, flowers, lunch dates and dad actually being up with the kids first! Today is the day for what I think are truly the most important and incredible people! In my most astonished tone of voice.. “women have the ability to carry a human inside them for 9 months!!!” Now we know that i’m not the typical girly girl when it comes to the traditional, wedding, babies and such and such. Just thinking of how my body was made to have a human grow in it and the ever, for me, so terrifying exit of said child is although quite creepy, still very amazing! I was reading up on all the technicalities of pregnancy and labour and man is the woman’s body not only beautiful to look at, but the things it can do is remarkable! The fact that we can’t eat sushi, drink our preferred alcoholic bevy, sleep on our bellies, run a marathon, have 4 cups of coffee a day like I like to (I know so bad for me but you wouldn’t want to be my friend without coffee in me lol) all along staying comfortable, getting out of bed with a huge belly like a normal person, feel nauseous for the first 3 months etc etc.. takes extreme strength in my books! With the way I’ve seen men just suffer with the common cold, sorry guys but i don’t think you’d be able to handle it! Although since i’m the biggest baby when it comes to pain as well, I don’t know if i’d be able to either.
Besides the fact that the whole gestational period alone makes women remarkable, how is it that mothers are always right?! A lesson I learned when I became older. My mom use to always say “you know i’m always right”. I’d question that but dare I admit… she was and still is! How do they do that?! Still a question that I haven’t found the exact answer to but I will have to say, she definitely is!!
Nurturers. Mothers are so incredibly nurturing, I guess since our bodies were made to raise and take care of humans we have this sixth sense of just being kind and giving! I love that part of us!! Usually putting our own needs second to take care of others first. Taking care of the kids when they’re sick, juggling work as well as taking the children to school, making lunches, making dinner after a long day of work, soccer practice, ballet class, all in all while trying to keep the house not looking like a bomb went off in it. Props to you men who make your ladies lives easier by helping carry the weight! And yes, i’m definitely not old fashioned or a stereotyper but when it comes to being a mother, we can’t deny the load does normally fall mostly on mothers.
All in all, I think most of us know how amazing and important moms are! What would we do without our moms?! My mother has always been my best friend. My dad and I have always been more alike in how we think and things we like. He was always the one that when we fought we’d talk it out, not scream and yell. He didn’t always agree with what I wanted to do but would always give his advice and support me regardless. I can say I am a daddy’s girl but there’s no other bond like a mother and her child. She’s the one I always call first to tell her anything, she’s the one who always knows best and gives logical and practical advice. When something’s going on in my life or I need help with anything, she’s the first one there. She always worries about me, which makes me feel so bad but I guess that’s a mom thing. She’s taken care of me and been there for me since day one! She always says “Hey I use to wipe your bum”. Sorry about that mom!
My mother is awesome! I always say i’m lucky to have the parents I have. They met, fell in love, dated for 3 months, got married and have been married 30 plus years! #RelationshipGoals 🙂 My mom always says we are like oil & water, and we are. Very different!! Nonetheless, she is my best friend. I can’t imagine my life without her! She’s so funny and sarcastic. She’s a total babe, all my guys friends growing up always told me my mother’s a hottie. She’s always so put together, responsible, strong, kind, funny, nurturing, the first person I can rely on and will be the last! She’s always been there for me. Throughout all my stupid choices, smart decisions, rebel phases, jobs, heartbreaks, hair colours. She’s the first one I can count on for anything!
I love you mom, always have and always will! I know I can never repay you for all of the things you have done for me, but I am so grateful beyond words for you!! I will always be here for you, just as you have been for me!!
To all the mothers out there, thank you for all that you do and know that your children love and appreciate you immensely! Hope you all get spoiled just like you have always spoiled us!!
Peace, Love & Happy Mothers Day to all you incredible moms xoxo
