Good Samaritans!!

Happy weekend y’all! So these past two weeks made my heart very full of warm and fuzzies! I always talk about how we should all try to be the best person we can be and how this world is so beautiful, but sometimes full of darkness. At times I get discouraged with thoughts of “Where is the love?” It makes me sad to see how some people can be so evil and mean, but I know there are many people out there who are not. Well within the last week I’ve had two great examples of how no matter how bad some people can be, there are truly some amazingly kind people out there as well!
Last weekend, a couple of his friends and I went to watch Justice League and to all the people out there who didn’t enjoy the movie I say “You crazy!” I know I’m probably one of Batman’s number one fans, beginning my love for him in my personal favourite Tim Burton movies, which I think no one has done better yet! Although, The Dark Night series were a very close runner up! Not being bias tho I loved Justice League, although Jared Leto’s portrayal of the Joker was a miss! Batman vs Superman I did not enjoy, was kind of a stinker, but Henry Cavill as Superman is chefs kiss!! Anywho, I’m going off track. After the movie my basketball obsessed boyfriend played the basketball arcade game. Now, let’s back track for a minute. I bought my boyfriend a black stainless steel ring not too long ago. He had lost it at work once, being a bit too big it slipped off his hand, so I bought him a new one. As he was about to start the basketball game he took the expensive second bought ring off his finger and placed it on the game so it wouldn’t slip off his hand again because I was not buying a third one. As we left, he forgot it on the game. (MEN) Twenty minutes later he realized what had happened and called his friend to see if he could go back to the movie theater to find it as his friend lived down the street from the venue. In my living in Toronto experience, I know how people can be and in my brain I thought it was gone again. Not to put a bad stereotype on Toronto but it’s a big city, if that had happened in the city someone would have taken the ring and already have had it pawned! Well, that wasn’t the case. Someone had seen it and turned it into to lost and found. I was very surprised actually, it was an pricey ring. Thumbs up to the person that turned it in, good karma is on your way! The second example was even more heart warming!! On Wednesday, some friends of mine and I went to a concert at the Phoenix. Now if you don’t live in Toronto or haven’t been to the Phoenix it’s definitely not located in the safest and trustworthy of areas. On our walk home my purse strap broke and unbeknownst to me my wallet fell out. When I got home which is two hours away from the city, I realized it was gone. I have never lost anything in my life! Wallet, phone, keys, anything and to lose your wallet is probably the worst. I had my health card, drivers license, credit and bank card, worst of all I had my social insurance card in there. I was so upset!! The next day, I cancelled all my cards. A couple of hours later I got an email from Volkswagen. I drive a Volkswagen beetle, appropriate for this self proclaimed hippie. Volkswagen emailed me notifying me that someone had found my VW client card (Seriously didn’t even know I had a client card) had found whole wallet and was trying to find me to notify me that they had it in there possession! WHAT?! I had cash in there as well. “They didn’t take it and run?” I thought! Volkswagen sent me said persons number and I called him. What an amazing guy!! He said he found it Wednesday night on the street and was so happy he tracked me down. I went down to Toronto the next day to meet him and got my wallet back. I brought him a bottle of wine to show my appreciation. This man found a wallet, with money in it, credit cards and a tap bank card and didn’t even think twice to take anything from me. That’s a good person! Now I would have done the same as he did, but not many people would. How incredibly appreciative and humbled I felt! When I met him I gave him a big hug and told him he made my week and that it was so heart warming to know there are still amazing people out there. These experiences have taught me that no matter how much humanity proves that they can be awful, they can also prove they can be wonderful!! Earth is filled with incredible people! Loving, kind, generous, thoughtful, honest… And i’m pretty proud to say I think of myself as one of those people too! Thank you so very much to the two people this week that reminded me there’s still a whole lot of kindness in this world!!

Peace, Love & Kindness xo
