December 28th 2016

It’s been a dream of mine to have my very own blog and it’s finally coming into fruition! So, being my first post and all, i thought it would be appropriate since we are rearing the last days of 2016 to recap this years events!

From the Zika virus to many an icon passing away this year. Brangelina being no longer together and my choice for worst moment of the year, Donald Trump becoming president, i think it’s safe to say everyone is probably ready for 2016 to be over with!!
Let’s get rid of the bad stuff first… Starting the new year with the horrible Zika virus where poor women who had dreams of becoming pregnant or actually being pregnant couldn’t travel, three bombings in Brussels killing 32 people executed by the Islamic state, EgyptAir crashing on it’s way from Paris to Cairo, the United Kingdom voting to leave the European union, floods across south Louisiana destroying 140,000 homes and Malaysia airlines flight 17 shot down by Russian rebels. Icons David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Nancy Reagan, Gary Shandling, Doris Roberts, Prince, Muhammad Ali, Kimbo Slice, Gordie Howe, Anton Yelchin, Garry Marshall, Ursula Franklin, Alan Thicke, Zsa Zsa Gabor, George Micheal and Carrie fisher sadly all passed away.
Please 2016 leave us dear Betty White, love her!! Kobe retires, Batman vs Superman sucked so did Suicide Squad (pretty sad about those 2 movies tanking) and the horrible tragedy of the Orlando nightclub shooting!! 2016 has been tough, hence all the infamous 2016 memes!
But to me, and those were all heartbreaking, saying goodbye to my beloved Barack Obama and welcoming the most racist, arrogant, close minded (i can go on and on) man Donald Trump to become the new president of the United States broke my heart even more!
Yes he is definitely an exceptional business man but the first day of him being the new president elect, the amount of racism, vandalism and bullying pouring out through the streets was sickening!
I don’t know if it’s the hippie inside me talking but, where is the love?! This world is supposed to be getting better, yes we’re always gonna have some sort of war sadly, not everyone in this world has a good heart but it’s almost 2017!
We should all be in this together! No matter our background, where we live, our difference in opinions.. We share this world and should band together as a team! Not create a wall to divide us, become violent or cast out major stereotypes!
In any case, let’s move on to the good stuff pls… The first female candidate ran for president and won the first debate, girl power!! Leo finally won an Oscar!! Peyton Manning retired with a Superbowl win, Obama visited Cuba, The wizardly world of Harry Potter FINALLY opened at Universal studios (I’m a nerd at heart too)
Lebron brings a title to Cleveland, they remade an all girl cast of Ghostbusters (should be put on the tanking list tho, but again girl power) the cure for Ebola seems positive, Colombia signs a peace deal, Jon Snow wakes from the dead and Drake is still amazing!
2016 was a pretty pivotal year for the war on climate change, which is wonderful, we need to take care of our Mother Nature!! Adele makes a comeback, ‘Stranger Things’ happened, memes took over. The bachelorette found love and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are still the cutest couple ever!!
All in all 2016 was pretty crazy!! My hopes for 2017 is more peace around the world, no more racism and stereotypes, no more violence! Climate change for the better! This earth is our home we have to nurture it!
My biggest hope is that Trump doesn’t last a year as president and that everyone in the world is happy! 🙂

Peace, Love & Here’s to hoping<3
