    Bye, Bye fear!

In the spirit of this spooky day, I thought i’d talk about fears. Not the type of fears you’re thinking like Micheal Myers stalking babysitters with his white mask, the creepy clown who drags kids into sewers or my personal biggest fear of a big fish with sharp teeth terrorizing a boat full of vacationers. Yes I know it’s not some demonized clown but sharks are really scary!! I’m talking about real fears. Fears of what can realistically happen. Well, let’s hope Micheal Myers isn’t actually real! “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” -Franklin Roosevelt We all have different fears. Some fear being unsuccessful in life,…

    Let us be better humans

I just finished watching a movie called “mother!”. For anyone who is going to watch it sooner or later, MAJOR spoiler alert with this blog. If you’re like my best friend and can’t even watch a trailer for a movie because it’ll ruin it, exit… blog… now!! So the movie depicts a story of a married couple played by Javier Bardem and my girl Jennifer Lawrence. Now researching this thriller after watching it, since there was a big HUH in my mind after it was done, the story is said to be inspired by the book of Genesis. For those who don’t know too much about the bible, the book…

What goes around comes around, does it?

So I’ve been thinking a lot about Karma lately. I am a big believer in it! I think of it like a boomerang, you launch out good and the boomerang eventually brings good back to you. Same thing with the bad. Or is it?! Wikipedia’s definition of Karma is: “The spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual influence the future of that individual. Good intent and good deed contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad intent and bad deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering” Ok, I know it seems pretty far fetched that if we do good deeds consistently we’re…

    Putting the scissors down…

I haven’t blogged in a while, lots of new stuff going on in my life but that’s a whole different blog to be written. Today is a good day to write after being on hiatus because this day marks the first day in almost 13 years that I will no longer be a hair stylist. Pretty bittersweet!! Bitter in the ways that I will no longer pamper people on a daily basis. Make them feel happy and relaxed. Make them feel beautiful! See the smiles on clients faces when they leave my chair. Daily, I have met new people, heard new stories. Incredible ones like the mothers who stand by…

    Breakthrough!

Breakthrough… She sat in her house dress. She loved dresses. Hair disheveled as always, writing glasses on. She thought of the past, not so much experiences, but lessons she has learned. Evaluating who she’s been the last while, feeling somber. Not at where her life was at this moment, she was happy on all counts of that matter, but more so who she had been lately. She always thought of herself as strong, never letting life’s occurrences change who she was and for the past 10 years she never did. It had turned opposite lately. What a violation of all she represented, she thought. She refused to let that happen…

    Where is the love??

Where is the love??? Been a very sad few weeks in the world!! My thoughts and prayers go out to all the citizens and tourists affected by all the tragic events in England!! Made me think a lot about how each person truly does affect this earth. Pondering where is the love right now?! (queue in Black Eyed Peas “Where is the love” for the background) Me and my hippie mantras all promote peace & love, power to the people, girl power, make peace not war…. if only everyone in this world had the same views! We sadly will never change the world into being a perfect place. Free from…

    Mama, I love you!

Mama, I love you…. Happy Mothers day!! (Queue Spice Girls song “Mama, I love you” for the background) Hope all you wonderful mothers are waking up to breakfast in bed, macaroni pictures, flowers, lunch dates and dad actually being up with the kids first! Today is the day for what I think are truly the most important and incredible people! In my most astonished tone of voice.. “women have the ability to carry a human inside them for 9 months!!!” Now we know that i’m not the typical girly girl when it comes to the traditional, wedding, babies and such and such. Just thinking of how my body was made…

    April 30th 2017

Nostalgia… It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post… way too long! Lots of things have happened in my life since my last entry, some tough and some great! The tough times made me think of all the things that I want in my life. Things i want to change about myself that will make me a better person and really be the person I always strive to be! The great thing is I got a cutie little puppy. A rottweiler named Otis 🙂 I’ve always wanted a dog, my mother never wanted animals “pooping in her house”. Been a lot more work than I anticipated and if…

    Dear best friend…

Dear best friend… Truly my number one best friends are my parents and always will be. They have been the best parents this hippie wild child could ask for!! My advice givers, travel partners, teachers, amazing role models in life and love! We’ve of course had our ups and downs like most parent/offspring relationships but no matter what I can always count on them. They will forever be my number one loves! My apologies for the craziness I’ve put you through parents, hasn’t been TOO bad tho right?! Having a sibling tho is a very different bond, you can tell them things that you wouldn’t want to chat about with…

    Day for lovers…

Valentines day… Since Valentines day is approaching, i thought i’d share my thoughts on this day for lovers… First of all I’ve never been a very “traditional” human being, in pretty much all cases.. clothing, jobs, cars, wedding ceremonies and the list goes on. No offence to most people who love the whole two hundred plus wedding receptions with the wedding parties elaborate grand entrances, full hair and makeup, super expensive high class decorations, individuals invited that the happy couple barely even know and the overpriced wedding dress you’ll only wear once.. not my scene! I’d much rather take all that money and backpack through Europe!! The yearly traditions, like…
